This week’s #1 position goes to the very smart anti-smoking video by Thai Health. The #2 is again from Nike which introduces a new training platform. And a recreation of the classic Hot Wheels experience closes this week’s top 3.


1. Thai Health – Anti-Smoking Ad
While anti-smoking efforts worldwide inform people of smoking’s dangers on a daily basis, many adults continue to smoke cigarettes knowing the health risks. The Thai Health Promotion Foundation took a very smart approach to get smokers to think about their health – by enlisting young kids to walk up to smokers on the street, pull out a cigarette and ask for a lighter. How would you react if a small child asked you for a light during your smoke break? No wonder this video got over 2 million views in 2 weeks.


2. Nike – Game On, World.
Sport is the ultimate game, and athletes are the ultimate players. Nike introduces a whole new training platform: Game on, world. Measure your score against yourself, against your friends, against the world. The more you play, the better you get. The world is your playground. In this video top athletes re-enact a typical platform game environment in a very cool way. The video has already been viewed over a million times since its launch early this week.


3. Hot Wheels – Double Loop Dare
Watch Team Hot Wheels drivers, Tanner Foust and Greg Tracy set a Guinness World Record racing two vehicles through a six-story double vertical loop at the 2012 X Games in Los Angeles! It’s Hot Wheels for real, recreating the classic Hot Wheels experience in sunny LA! This really cool carstunt has been viewed by almost 1 million carlovers around the world this week. 4. Virgin Mobile Australia – Meet Doug Pitt
We know that famous people work pretty well to let videos go viral. Virgin Mobile from Australia created a new video based on this insight. They have contracted Doug Pitt, the lesser-known brother of super-famous celebrity Brad Pitt, to star in a commercial. In the video we see Doug shoot some hoops, washing his car, riding his bike and taking his dog for a walk. At the end of the video Virgin Mobile state that they believe in a fair go for all, and want to give Doug a taste of his brother’s lifestyle. The campaign asks viewers to go to a Virgin Mobile website, and show Doug some ‘like’. In the meantime a lot of people have watched and liked the video already because it got 700.000 views in 1 week.


5. Playboy South Africa – Hair Through The Ages
The idea behind this very tongue-in-cheek ad is all about reaffirming the impact Playboy has had on popular culture through the decades. The video shows men in different eras with their typical hairstyles, going from very bushy hairstyles to bold. It then concludes with the line: ‘Funny how women’s hairsyles have influenced men’. This iconic brand has been going since 1953 and has seen many fads, trends and styles come and go but has always kept itself relevant to its readers by delivering more than just a centerfold. Almost 750.000 men already watched it this week.
